Captain Clothing was formed in 1971 in Auckland, New Zealand and began making promotional and sports jackets, winning the contract for Auckland City Traffic, Ambulance and Council. After changing hands in 1986 the business grew to supply Ambulance Jackets nationwide and develop the ‘Captain Mac’ security jacket and overalls well known today in such companies as Amourguard, First Security, Police Volunteers amongst others.

Four Star Gear was created in 1998 to produce cross country colours for local Auckland pony club children. This has since become nationwide and now supplies pony club, school, and other teams, along with individuals, with equestrian clothing which is made to order to specific design and colour requirements, including screenprinting and embroidery.

Captain Clothing is still today an owner operated business which takes pride in producing small runs over a very wide size range from quality fabrics and notions at a competitive price.
